DIY How To: Christmas Bauble Wreath

Every year I try to make a new Christmas themed wreath for our front door and after years of making the regular fir wreath with holly and different plants I decided this year to give a bauble wreath a try.

I did mention in a previous post about making how I made it and what you'd need to make your own. I think this would work for pretty much any season though and just change up the colors it would look super cute for Easter with pastels.

What you will need:

Baubles in all different sizes I picked my up from Tesco on a for £3 a box and used Gold, Red & Silver.

A Glue Gun (be careful with how hot he glue gets though I did have a few Baubles melt in places)

and the main part of this project is a Styrofoam ring.

I just put some old newspaper down to make sure I didn't glue anything to the floor or of anything spilt it didn't ruin my flooring.

I decided to go for a mix of matte, shiny and glitter bauble I think its a great combination.

First I used a thick ribbon and glued it around the top of the ring (this is your decision you can use string or if you a door that you can just hook the wreath onto it go for it :) )

When selecting your baubles make sure to pull the loop and cap off the top of the bauble and once you start gluing them to the ring make sure to point the little bit that stick out down and not up. I have one that I accidentally did that to and its been bugging me since.

Before making this I did do a quick YouTube search for a good idea on where to start some people like to add to 4 sides but I personally just started on one side and made my way round the ring and just made sure that one side didn't have more colors etc than the other.

What I really love about this is that it will last for years unlike the real ones I have made in the past I cant wait to make more fore next year for different doors int he house and plus means if we have another theme for redecorating next year I get to have fun with new colors!!

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas.....

Sooooo I am a little bit obsessed with Christmas its probably my favorite holiday out of them all, I just love the pretty lights, Christmas movies, going crazy buying gifts for other people and most exciting for me is decorating for the holidays!!

We aren't a family who put lights up outside the house but we do a lot of decorations inside. Now I wish I had one of those amazing American houses that have the massive entry ways etc but I do the best with what I have and wanted to share with you my little bit of winter wonder land :)

Unlike a lot of people I know our family has a real tree if we are going to do Christmas we do it the right way. So finding the perfect tree is a long winded process for us we are the people that scare other customers away from parts of the garden center because we are talking to the Christmas tree's. My family is a little weird so to us its perfectly normal to make the trees go through an interview process before we choose haha (*) Oh and I also name the tree last year we had George and this year we have Phil the Fir.

Picking the Tree out
Trying to figure out how many lights had blown from last year
Our theme this year was a ton of lights and baubles for the tree no tinsel or other ornaments and I freaking love the look of the tree this year.

Added from Candy Canes and snowmen as little accent pieces around the TV
Hand made Bauble Wreath there will be a Blog post very soon on how I made this
The finished look <3 br="">
Cali Cat investigating Phil the Fir and seeing what gifts she can chew :)

This isn't all the decorations we have up if you would like to see some more of the little pieces let me know.

Miss Glossybox November/December Unboxing & Review 2013

OMG a Box review? really Caitlin?....Yes Im finally posting box reviews from this month it has been awhile since I was away last month for box reviews but I thought hey why not get back to that!!

As you may know Miss Glossybox is the part of Glossybox that is aimed more towards the younger teen group that is sent out every 2 months, but they do still have some pretty good products in it! If you would like to sign up to Miss Glossybox just click here. (*)

This was the November / December box and Ill be honest not that impressed this time :( I was expecting a box that just encompassed the holiday season but there wasn't as much as a piece of tinsel involved in this box.
A quick look at the products.....

So...? Fragrance - So...? Sinful Body Spray. Price: £1.69 for 75ml - www.boots.com

This you can tell is very much aimed to the younger subscribers of the box, its not something Ive used for years and dont really use now. It is a great size for travel though so if you need to you can just through it in a gym bag.

Jelly Pong Pong - 2 in 1 Shadow/Liner. Price: £10.50 - jellypongpong.com

I have actually received one of these before in a blueish green color and while I like both colors the pencils themselves are way to hard. If I was to use this as a liner or a shadow I would have to scrub it on my eye which honestly not something I am jumping to do. I wish it was a softer pencil because this is a color I could easily use in a daily basis.

Clear Start from Dermalogica - Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash. Price: £13 for 177ml - cleanstart.com

I have recieved several different pieces in boxes from Dermalogica and never had any complaint so I am really looking forward to trying this out. I love to change up my skincare routine and I'm always up for trying new stuff out so cant wait to add this to my other skincare.

Elegant Touch - Little Mix Nail Wraps. Price: £6 for a set - www.boots.com

I do love a good nail wrap but again you can easily tell as to what age group this product in aimed for. I think they are pretty cute just not for me really.

Lacoste Perfume - Touch of Pink. Price £38.50 for 50ml - theperfumeshop.com

This has been a scent I have loved for years but never bought so I was super happy to see this in the box!! Very much my kind of scent and will most likely be picking up a full size when I finish the sample :)

SO thats all for this months Miss Glossybox review not their best but still somethings Ill use but hopefully the next one in January will be better :)

I LOVE WINTER TAG!!

I have been really into finding new blogs recently and I stumbled onto Kellie's Blog BeautyEverAfter and saw she posted a I Love Winter TAG and seeing as Winter & Fall are my Favorites seasons I just had to do the tag!!

1) Favorite Winter Nail Polish?
For a nail addict like myself it is so hard to narrow this down but my faves have to be either a deep purple or a deep blood red both cream based and shimmer.

2) Favorite Winter lip product?
I love my EOS for winter super cute to look at and so moisturizing for those frosty mornings and bitter cold nights, recently though I have been pretty obsessed with red/dark lips!!

3) Most worn Winter clothing piece?
Ooo this was a hard one probably Skinny Jeans with knee high boots and my Parker with a big fluffy hood.

4) Most worn Winter accessory?

Scarfs!! I wesr them all read round but nothing beats a good winter scarf. I have recently been loving chunky knit hats for when I have curly hair too.

5) Favorite winter scent/candle?
Im such a candle whore so this is freaking impossible if I have to choose it would probably be Slatkin & Co - Hot Buttered Rum or Twisted Peppermint, they smell so yummy!

6) Favorite Winter beverage?
Starbucks Peppermint white hot chocolate. Mmmm

7) All time favorite Christmas/Holiday movie?
ELF!! That and the Santa Clause Movies. I cant wait to start watching them!!

8) Favorite Christmas/Holiday song?
I cant pick one some so anything from Blake Shelton: Cheer's, Its Christmas or anything from a Michael Buble Christmas album haha

9) Favorite Holiday food/treat?
Momma Elf's (aka my mum) home made Mince Pies.

10) What is your favorite Christmas Decoration this year?
I love Christmas lights I went super traditional with decorating this year its all Red, White & Gold.

11) What's at the top of your Christmas list?
This year has been so freaking hard to think of anything to ask for last year it was insane in our household with big gifts so this year is going to be a little more low key. If I'm honest the only thing I want this year is a Corgi but I know there is a bigger chance hell will freeze over than me seeing a Corgi on Christmas day hah

12) What are your plans for the holidays this year?
We are always pretty low key for Christmas not to many family is still around so just my mum, step dad and sister for Christmas day. Boxing day though we have my grandparents come over for lunch and this year my good friend has decided to escape her family to join our for the day she is pretty much my mothers 3rd daughter.

I feel so freaking christmasy these last few days I am LOVING it!!

The RED Lip....

As a makeup lover I was pretty late to the lip product section which has become a down right addiction for me! I always end up buying lip products when I makeup shop and usually its always pinks and nudes.
With it being fall and very soon we will be in winter I really wanted to start embracing the deeper and darker lip colors so I thought myself in the deep end with red!!

ELF Lipstick in Fearless & ELF Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red
ELF Long Wear Lip Liner in Bitter & ELF Lipstick in Sociable with Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Pink Punch
For my skin tone and hair color I really have to figure out a way to make my contour a little more defined but I am seriously in LOVE with this look!
I really want to start trying more of the pinky purples and more redish pinks and see how they work on me do you have any recommendations? Id love to hear them :)

Fall/Autumn Nail of the Day

For someone who is as obsessed with nail polish and owns as many bottles of polish as I do I am surprised I have never put up a post about it!
So here goes :D I have had white tips for the last few weeks and think it is a total classic and a look I end up going back to time and time again.
As we are moving into the end of Fall and beginning of Winter I really wanted to step up my mani game and get into those fall colors so the combination I decided to go for was purple and gold.

Wet n Wild Megalast - Disturbia & Sephora by OPI - Come to Pappa-razzi!

I just lve this combo together super pretty for any occasion!
I have always been a big fan of the Megalast polishes and it really sucks we cant get them here in the UK from retailers like boots because I think they would go down a storm!! I have found sites like Nelly.Com that sell all Wet n Wild but it is SO expensive.
Come to Pappa-razzi! is very new to my collection after picked up 3 glitter polishes for $10 from the Sephora F&F sale they normal retail for $10 a piece which although is expensive I think totally worth it their glitters are amazing!

Hopefully I will be able to get some nail posts up pretty regularly and maybe some Christmas themed very soon ;)

Birchbox September 2013 Unboxing & Review *Backstage To Real Life*

I know I know I am so freaking slow on these month and I am hating myself for it I dont know why its been taking me so long recently to actually write anf get posts up! i am sorry if you wanted to see these earlier believe me I really wanted to post them earlier but I think life an work has been a little crazy lately.
Anyway enough of my excuses onto Septembers Birchbox!! it was another London fashion edition :)

A quick look at the products

Reverence de Bastien - Nail Polish in No.14. Price: £16.

You all know I am a nail polish junkie but I am just not wowed with this polish the color is okay but not exact desirable but after doing a little investigations this brand does a lot of reds and similar shades and not very many brights etc. I will admit I haven't tried it yet but I will insert a swatch of it if I can get a decent picture but for this price it better be life changing OPI isn't even this expensive and I find it hard to buy bottles of that unless I find it cheap somewhere.

Bioderma - Sebium H2O. Price: £9.99.

This has to be probably the most talked about product by the European Beauty Vloggers out there and I am so excited to finally have my hands on it!! This little fella is meant to be the holy grail of all makeup removers and I cant wait to see how it does up again waterproof mascara! I have heard such amazing things out this and that the L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution are very similar so we will have to see :)

ModelCo. - Party Proof Matt Lipstick in Kitty. Price: £15.50 for a set of 3.

I am seriously obsessed with lipsticks at the moment so was pretty excited to hear a lip product would be in this months box and Ill be honest when I saw the color I received I wasn't jumping for joy over it. I was hoping for a bright read or something but It has grown on me so much!! super creamy and soft consistency and glides straight on and its one of those colors that is your lip color but better. I was advised to pair it with a lip gloss over the top to make it more me and I ended up using and sparkly nude from Revlon it looked so good together!!

Aromatherapy Associates - Revive Body Gel. Price: £31.

This is probably one of the products I really don't care about, I have so many body washes/gels I really dont need anymore than I already buy haha. It says it is meant to maintain a healthy circulation after a busy day and even your body's skin tone, it sounds like an interesting product if it didn't smell so strong I probably would have a little more excitement about it.

Molton Brown - Ylang-Ylang Nourishing Body Lotion. Price: £18.

Last month we received the body wash/gel in this and I must say I prefer the smell of the lotion to that its not to crazy strong or over powering I will def get around to using this at some point! I also LOVE the bottle for some reason.

*LIFESTYLE EXTRA*

Green & Black's - White Chocolate. Price £2.29

This was a cute little extra to have in this months box I'm not usually a big Green & Black's chocolate fan only because I don't like any form of dark chocolate but this was a tasty little treat :)

That's all for this months Birchbox! If you'd like to sign up to Birchbox please click here.(*)
